What is The Alternative Board® ?

The Alternative Board® is an international membership organization of CEOs, presidents and business owners who improve their companies by attending monthly board meetings led by an experienced facilitator/coach trained in the TAB process.

 

Who is the TAB-Certified Facilitator/Coach?

Each TAB Board is led by a facilitator/coach who has at least 7 years of senior-level experience as a corporate executive, consultant or entrepreneur.

 

What is the role of the TAB-Certified Facilitator/SBL-Certified Coach?

Besides facilitating the monthly board meeting, the TAB-Certified Facilitator/Coach will meet with each member for private coaching sessions between the board meetings and constantly monitor his/her progress in accomplishing the goals established when he/she joined the board. In addition, the facilitator assists in helping the board prioritize and sequence the member’s strategies into a logical planning process, as well as holding the members accountable for the implementation of strategies recommended by the board and accepted by him/her to improve the business.

 

Who will be my TAB Board members?

In order to qualify for membership, each board member must be a decision maker within his/her firm. TAB Board members lead companies that don’t compete with other members of their board or maintain in a key vendor relationship with another member of the board.

 

How will TAB help improve member companies?

Since each of the TAB Board members will have a different, diverse background from one another, they will help open one another’s eyes to new alternatives and opportunities to accomplish personal and professional goals. This diversity of backgrounds, providing between 200-300 years of combined experience on each TAB Board, will allow members to accelerate his/her learning curve on the opportunities and challenges facing his/her company.

 

How do business owners qualify to become a TAB member?

Membership in TAB is by invitation only. We require a personal interview in his/her office to determine his/her business experience and establish his/her willingness to assist others. In addition, each existing board member must be in favor of inviting him/her to join.
